Brunch at Melbourne Elouera in Lisbon

For All Brunch Lovers

If you love brunch you are in the right spot. I’m myself a huge brunch lover – I especially love savoury dishes. It’s not only the food that I adore when it comes to brunch but also the atmosphere. During my first month in Lisbon, I tried some brunch spots. Here are my best brunch recommendations for Lisbon. They are all over the city so whatever area you are looking for, I’m sure you’ll find something.

Break Sé

This is probably my favourite Lisbon brunch place. I discovered it pretty randomly when I was fancying a proper English Breakfast on a rainy Saturday morning. The food at Break Sé was amazing and they also had a big variety of brunch items on their menu. The service was quick, and the waiting staff was super friendly.

I absolutely loved the interior design and how cosy the atmosphere was. Because the weather was awful my friends and I stayed there for quite a while and just enjoyed the vibe.

Price: For the English Breakfast and a Dirty Chai Latte with oat milk I paid around 15 Euros. Considering the size of the dish, this is quite a fair price.

How To Get To Break Sé

The café is not only great because of its delicious food but also because the location is very convenient. It is located in Alfama, a beautiful little area that you definitely should check out. The café is also close to Miradouro de Santa Luzia, which is a beautiful lookout platform. If you’re already in this area I would recommend checking out the view from the platform and maybe even catching the Tram 28. There is a stop very close to this brunch spot.

Augusto Lisboa

This is a place that’s super popular in Lisbon. The only downside is that they do not take reservations, but only walk-ins. They have a wide option of different brunch foods. But if you go I would recommend trying their brunch menu where you get coffee, juice, a toast of your choice and something sweet—all for 19 Euros. Overall a great deal and the food itself is delicious. Also, Augusto Lisboa has a gorgeous interior. It’s just a perfect way to start your weekend.

Price: 10 – 20 Euros depending on what you order.

The brunch spot is located in Alfama (the old town of Lisbon). They also have a location in Bélem, however, I haven’t visited that one yet.

Melbourne Elouera

This was the first breakfast place I ever tried in Lisbon. Just a few months prior I visited Melbourne and I was tempted to see what kind of food they would offer here. The coffee was awesome and the food delicious (well to be honest I haven’t really been disappointed food-wise in Lisbon just yet). Just the portion sizes were quite big. The waiter packed my leftovers for me so I could take them with me (unfortunately someone in my hostel stole these leftovers that I was looking forward to all dayヽ(ಠ_ಠ) ).

The staff at Melbourne Elouera was so friendly. When I asked them for the toilet, they warned me that it is super tiny. Spoiler: it was super tiny. Tiny as in my knees would touch the door when sitting down.

Price: My Flat White and brunch meal came to around 12 Euros. For the amount of food I got, this was quite a good price.

How To Get To Lisboa Estrela

It is located in a part of Lisbon where no metro line is serving the area, but you can take a bus or tram or just walk. Lisbon is generally a very walkable city (besides the hills of course, but we love a free workout).

Nicolau Lisboa

Nicolau Lisboa was founded in 2016 and to this day has a few locations around Portugal. They serve breakfast food until quite late into the day (if you’re like me and don’t mind eating breakfast food for dinner then this is the spot for you). The inside area is super cosy and pretty. And during the summer I would recommend sitting outside.

Price: Between 8 – 15 Euros

How To Get To Nicolau

Nicolau is located quite central not too far from praça do comércio.

Manifest Lisbon

This was another random find. A friend and I spontaneously decided to go for brunch and googled some breakfast places. Manifest Lisbon is pretty popular and it’s not unlikely that you have to wait outside to get a seat. But the food is definitely worth the wait. I loved the unique interior and how they served some of their brunch dishes on wooden cutting boards instead of normal plates. The portion size was huge, and I couldn’t finish all of it. I personally think that this is one of the best brunch places in Lisbon.

Price: For a Matcha Latte and the Oriental Breakfast I paid 21 Euros.

How To Get To Manifest Lisbon

Manifest Lisbon is closely located to Marquês de Pombal, which is one of my favourite areas in Lisbon. You can either take the metro to Marquês de Pombal or a bus. After a nice big brunch, you should go for a walk in Parque Eduardo VII. The park is located next to the big roundabout of Marquês de Pombal and is one of my favourite parks in Lisbon. During winter there is also the Winterwonderland with different food and drink booths and even an ice rink!

Dear Breakfast

Dear Breakfast is a brunch place that’s probably a little better known in Lisbon. They have multiple locations and it’s quite popular (aka you will probably have to wait to get seated). I ordered a vegan burger and was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the vegan patty. The atmosphere was very relaxed and there were many people with their laptops working.

Price: For a Dirty Chai Latte and the Vegan Burger I paid around 17 Euros. Personally, I find that pretty reasonable.

How To Get To Dear Breakfast

Dear Breakfast has three different locations in Lisbon. They are all located quite centrally and close to the water.

Zenith Brunch

Last but not least, Zenith Brunch. This is also another rather popular place so get ready to wait in line (it obviously also depends on what time/date you go to a brunch place if you have to wait). I visited Zenith Brunch with a friend who also loves to share food. We ordered Shakshouka and a Tabioca Omelette.

I really loved the interior design with the brick walls. The time I went they even had tons of Christmas decorations everywhere. We spent a few hours chatting and eating at Zenith Brunch and completely forgot the time. Besides great Brunch food, they also do different cocktails.

Price: For two drinks and two dished we paid 28 Euros in total, so 14 Euros per person.

How To Get To Zenith Brunch

The restaurant is close to the Avenida Metro station but you can also walk there from the center.
